NASHVILLE – For the second straight week, the Tennessee State women’s basketball team has had a player named as the OVC Newcomer of the Week after the league announced Caitlin Anderson as this week’s Newcomer on Tuesday morning.
The Graduate transfer guard averaged 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.0 steals throughout two games last week against Cincinnati and Akron. Anderson finished with a season-high 14 points against UC, along with five boards, and three assists. She finished with 11 points and four assists against Akron.
The Missouri native has started in all eight games for the Lady Tigers and is averaging 8.8 ppg, 3.4 boards, and 2.5 steals per outing.
Anderson and the Lady Tigers will be back in action on December 15 as they are set to host Eastern Kentucky inside the Gentry Center.
